What is a Mitigation Bank?
Mitigation banking is the preservation, enhancement, restoration or creation (PERC) of a wetland, stream, or habitat conservation area which offsets, or compensates for adverse impacts to similar nearby ecosystems as a result of a proposed activity or project.
